該媒體表示，沙馬尼奇曾與費內巴切討論合同中包含第二年選項的內容，但最后沒有成功。

沙馬尼奇在19年首輪第19順位被馬刺選中，進入聯盟。效力過馬刺、爵士隊，NBA生涯共出戰了86場比賽，場均10.7分鐘貢獻4.5分2.4籃板0.6助攻。
